the tamriel collection still can't be used in events Posted: 14 Dec 2019 06:33 AM PST this was the case last weekend too but then i still had some hope that it was just temporary and would get fixed. maintenance mode is supposed to mean that obvious bugs should still be taken care of, right? now i'm not so sure. i had a couple of decks i was hyped to try out in allegiance but when key cards turned out to be not yet implemented i lost all interest to play. (if only i could get my event ticket refunded... my stash is down to just 178 now, what if i run out!?) [link] [comments]
Every Card Counts: A Comprehensive Guide to Singleton Deckbuilding and Strategy. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 10:26 AM PST https://imgur.com/gallery/a02NpZG I started playing Singleton almost exclusively a couple years ago, and feel like it, along with TESL, has become a huge part of my identity. While some may consider this guide too little too late, I hope sharing some of my sage advice might convince others to stick around for a little while longer and give singleton a try, especially if you are looking for something different since there won't be much more new content in the foreseeable future. The first step toward sucess in singleton deckbuilding is recognizing it is primarily about individual personality: not everyone has the same collection, enjoys the same playstyle, class or faction. For this reason, singleton decks tend to be very unique and personal constructions. Even if you do netdeck a singleton, chances are you will have to fill in some blanks or find that other cards work better for your playstyle, giving it your own unique twist. When you adopt this attitude as you develop and playtest your deck, it will grow alongside you as a player, and offers a degree of personal investment and satisfaction that is sometimes missing when playing preconstructed decks. **Every Card Counts** This is the cardinal philosophy surrounding singleton deckbuilding. Since there can only be one copy of a card in a deck, every card you put in should do something for you or move you towards your win condition. This doesnt mean that vanilla stat piles like wily keeva or slinky jackal are not good in singleton, but rather that there must be a purpose as to why they are included, even if it is just for bait or to make good trades. Every card you put into a singleton should have a reason for its inclusion. **Know thyself** Since every card counts, it is important to know every card in your deck and all the ways it can be used and in what situations. With only one copy in a deck, once you use a card it is most likely the last time you will get to see or use it that game. This changes your playstyle to be more thoughtful about when to use a card, and guides what you can expect later based on what you've already played. For example: an early lightning bolt could put the breaks on your opponents tempo, but you might want to also consider saving it in case you need a late-game closer with reach. This mindset also trains you to find ways of using cards unconventionally. This can be as simple as using barded guar to give enemy creatures guard to pull them from cover or from behind other guards, to giving an enemy creature a stat bonus so you can hit them with fell the mighty, to playing a mudcrab merchant after Rhazum-Dar so you get both cards. The more weird you can get with your deck, the less likely your opponent can get a bead on your gameplan and take effective action against it. When playing against a 'normal' deck, players can use cards that have already been played as a way to gauge what's coming next, but with singleton you can keep opponents guessing by always having a different trick up your sleeve. **Same, same; but different!** Perhaps the biggest complaint against singleton is that it lacks consistency. While this is a justifiable drawback, it can be mitigated with the right kind of inclusions. For example: shrieking harpy, dwarven sphere, and sanctuary pet all have a summon shackle ability. While variable in stats, keywords, and cost; they all function very similar in that they are a form of tempo control. How you play them individually then shapes how you play them in the deck: shrieking harpy might get mulliganed so you have it tucked away as a prophecy for later, sanctuary pet might get held on to to combo with an archers gambit or quicksilver crossbow, while dwarven sphere is more useful in surviving an early trade in shadow. These little nuances help guide your playstyle to make the best choices with what you are given. while you may not be running three copies of harpy, with enough analogous cards you can get pretty close. Other examples of analogous sets of cards are Morkul Gatekeeper, Covenant plate, and green pact ambusher: all 4 power guards with prophecy. Fell the mighty, edict of azura, and territorial viper are all 4-cost big-body removals. By looking at cards like analogues, it is easier to see where they overlap and what each of their strengths and weaknesses are for different scenarios. That will help you decide when to use what, like using a lightning bolt instead of fell the mighty to save fell for a larger threat or creature with ward. **Singleton Cards: How and When to use** It seems counterintuitive to not use all the singleton cards available in a singleton deck, but there are some instances when they can just be too slow or impede a combo. Masterwork can be helpful in an aggro deck if it turns 1-cost creatures to 0, but oftentimes can be too much of a tempo loss if played on curve without the ring and anything else with immediate impact. Likewise, seige is often too slow and weak to work effectively in aggro decks. For this reason many singletons tend to lean more towards control, or skip these cards to go aggro. Morokei is one of only two cards in the game that restores runes, so singleton decks usually lean heavily on exploiting this effect as much as possible. Effects that unsummon, create copies of cards, or copy summon effects can bring a singleton deck back from a bad start with fresh runes to break and cards to draw. Because the card draw or prophecy from the rune break is so valuable to singleton, you should rarely play Morokei with a full set of runes so you don't miss out on the extra card. This means singleton tends to benefit from baiting control mirrors into races, or letting aggro or mid get ahead so you can get that rune back. Try to wait until at least two runes are broken with board threats dealt with before playing morokei with a blink effect, as he often gets destroyed immediately to stop you from gaining more than one rune. The best defense against singleton is knowing it's singleton, so playing a singleton card is a huge tell you should try to reserve to avoid tipping your hand. This is another reason why masterwork is not always an auto-include as playing it early can give your strategy away. Another big reason to reconsider masterwork is the seige/mushroom tower combo. Since siege draws a random support, any other supports you include besides mushroom tower weakens the combo's consistency, dropping masterwork in seigetower decks can be a valid strategy. Seigetower decks also have their own unique challenge to deal with: the turn timer. You should be prepared to play seige immediately as your turn starts, and play your cards as quickly as possible, so having a good understanding of what cards you might pull can help you prepare and be ready to make the right play. Arise and midnight sweep are great betray fodder for your actions after pulling the mushroom tower. seige is NOT a random card. This is where the 'every card counts' philosophy in singleton deckmaking comes from. It may be a random card, but it is from a deck you built, so build your deck with seige in mind. This means big charge creatures, creatures with powerful summon effects, high power items, and supports and actions that give immediate board impact are all good options for a successful seige. It might seem like 'luck' when you pull an underworld vigalante, sentinel battlemace, skirmisher's elixir and swift strike, but it could have just as easily been a blastbones or cliff racer; covenant plate or shieldbreaker; volundrung or divine fervor; a monk's strike or crusader's assault that can give you a threshold of guarenteed value from seige. When your deck is built around favorable pulls for seige, the more likely it will be you are going to be happy with the 'random' cards it pulls. Keep in mind the order seige pulls cards in what you include: wrothgar forge is not as strong of a choice as it could be since it gets summoned after your first creature, or card draw actions since you usually wont be able to play what they draw you that turn. Sometimes saving what you draw in seige to refill your hand can be a better option than making a sub-optimal play, especially in seigetower builds. With these basic guidelines, I encourage anyone on the fence about leaving to give singleton a try before signing off completely. Thanks again to all of you for being a part of one of the best gaming experiences and communities of our time. May you all continue to seize your own fates, press your advantages, and try something; you wont live to regret it! [link] [comments]

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 06:16 AM PST Hey guys, I've played Endurance in literally every deck I've made. Time to step out of my comfort zone while there's still time to do so. Unfortunately, this means not knowing what's "good". Without Endurance's Uber value creatures, I feel I may be missing some crucial cards from will/int/ago. Don't have much dust, so let's keep it to epics/rares. I've got a lot of intelligence legendaries (tharn/ancano/5-cost action lady) and the Black Dragon. Would add the Keyword Kitty if I could! I've got Crown Quartermasters and I'm feeling okay about my 2-drops (profiteers, trainers, inspiring soldiers, fighter guild, thief guild, ward crafter; the almighty gavel etc) I'm less certain about 3 and 4 drops without my mighty endurance staples, though. Obviously Eastmarch is in there, and I put Renowned Instructor as a 3/4 with a great ability. Apart from them and the Battle-Reave, though, I'm at a loss. 4-drops without Preservers of the Root is sad times. I've got the Dark Elf nesting dolls, but only one of the 4/2 epic Agent. Lastly, I've also put in Corsair ships Edit: forgot, I have Lightning Bolt and Crushing blow. 5-drops get sexier with my beloved Prankster Mages and Monastic Champions and charge Dino-birbs. So yeah, any help for this sad, endurance-less endurance player would be appreciated! SPAKbquGpSaAvDqnesjydrnuAEfWhodhfDATsyxdrCdBjHgpgTfxwClYgsqyoxdMuddItucxim [link] [comments]

Question Asian Client after Jaws Posted: 14 Dec 2019 07:54 AM PST So my understanding is the Asian version of the games is still going, but it's also my understanding is they are also way behind. Like Dark Brotherhood is new content. Looks like some streamers are moving to the Asian Client, however is this just a run out the clock situation, where as soon as they just get to Jaws the game going kaput? Or is there a real exspection that the game will get new sets post Jaws in Asia? [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Dec 2019 01:06 AM PST SPACsjrPADoZeDwGAOgUmTpqfrkpfqhOdMlYgpkXkYfTxe Top 5 at the moment. 3 out of 5 losses came in a row when i was 5-1 in the 1st run. 18-1 since. Losses: 1 to aggressive red with prophesies. 1 to aggressive green goblins, although Halls of Dwemers topdeck could give me lethal. 1 to non-goblins green. Last rune prophecy Fighters Guild Recruit wasted lethal. 2 to stupid blue aggressive factotums playing ice storm on turn 6 (WTF?) Good luck! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2019 10:31 PM PST Always a fun format. Today's meta: Red - 8 Blue - 8 Purple - 4 Yellow - 3 Green - 2 [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2019 01:03 PM PST My werewolf meme deck will never be redeemed now. I doubt any monthly would be dedicated to it. Time to soul trap the premium and let it die... [link] [comments]
Background translation and other game questions Posted: 13 Dec 2019 01:43 PM PST Does anyone know what the glowing blue translates to when you hover over the board during a game? And the eagle and dragon glow amd effect the board when touched, is this just cosmetic or am I missing something? [link] [comments]
Question about TESLegends twitch stream Posted: 13 Dec 2019 02:19 PM PST Is there a schedule somewhere for the TESL twitch stream? I never know for sure if or when they're happening, since it's not every week, and they sometimes streams an hour earlier or later than last time. Kind of confusing really :) [link] [comments] |
