    TESL asian version...so far...loving it

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 08:06 AM PDT

As someone who found this game just last october, to me the asian version is the best thing that couldve happened ( assuming the maintenance was always coming to the western version ) specially because instead of picking up the game where it was, its starting form scratch, we only have the dark brotherhood story yet, so its to me interesting to understand the evolution of the game in terms of cards and mechanics, which was hard to figure it out when i found this game just before the gates of oblivion expansion, and it was hard to get cards as rewards from previous sets, since you would only be rewarded with the current expansion (which btw was shit ) so yeah...loving it so far, the changes in the game are cool, lots of quests, weekly and daily, forcing me to test other all kinds of decks, hero pass is amazing also, they manage to find a way for us to spend some money, which is good for the health of the game, i never spent money on the other version cause i didnt feel i needed to, i got everything i wanted from ingame gold, here it makes sense to waste a couple of euros on it to get the premium pass, i really think people who love this game should move to this version, and i know its painful to start from scratch when you had a complete collection, but at least this version has a future for now, the more we join the healthier it gets.

On a side note, which legendaries you guys think are important crafting from the core deck? Relentless raider was good for a starter aggro deck back when i joined so my guess it should be amazing as we only have core sets here in teh asian version

New to the game, best people to watch/things to read?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 03:59 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Just started playing ESL yesterday (working from home got unproductive real fast) and I was wondering who are the best people to watch videos from, articles/sites to read, and any general tips you may have for a newbie? I've played hearthstone before but know nothing about ESL beyond what the lanes do so far. Thanks!

    5 costs > 6 costs ?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:10 PM PDT

There are very good 6-cost cards (i.e. Emeric, Alfiq, Abnur, Odirniran, Ice Storms, etc). And I can't say 5 costs are better in every deck, but in most cases, I find that when I build decks, I have like 14+ 5 cost cards and I have to narrow it down, while I struggle to find more than a handful of 6 cost creatures I want.

There's so many 5 cost options. Leaflurker, Hallowed Deathpriest, Boneweaver, Phalanx Exemplar, Divine Fervor, Piercing Javelin, Prankster Mage, Gatekeeper, Cliff Racer, Shadowfen Priest, Blood Dragon, Hand of Dagoth!, Ahnassi!

The jump in quality of cards from 2 to 3 to 4 cards is noticeable. At the lower levels, stats and trading matter. The average 3-cost beater will trade over an average 2-cost beater, 4-costs trade over 3's, etc. But at 5 onward, utility and being fast starts to matter more than stats. And the aggro matchup starts to matter.

6 cost sort of feels like the point where it's starting to get late, and we're bordering from mid to long,. At that point, we may as well get a very high-impact 7 cost. Javelin is only 5 cost, and other removal is cheaper. At that point, 6 feels too big for something that can just be easily removed.

Maybe the 6 costs aren't inherently worse, but I just expect more? Would I be okay with Night Shadow's slowness if it were a 5-cost? Maybe, I dunno.
