Have the new expansions ruined the game?

I stopped playing a few weeks after Sparklepants took over and I haven't played since. ESL always felt like a relatively balanced game, even with Hlaalu Aggro or Telvanni conscription (?). Maybe I'm wrong but I looked through the new cards and it seems there's a lot of rng, powercreep and some op/broken cards/mechanics. What's the state of the game when it comes to balance?
